How Sweet The Sound Finals Are Next Month
Choirs from 11 cities across the United States will compete for the title of the Best Church Choir in America when they meet at the finals of the Verizon Wireless’ second annual How Sweet the Sound(TM) competition in Detroit at the Joe Louis Arena on Nov. 7.
Donald Lawrence, the GRAMMY®-winning songwriter and producer, will host the event with Lisa Kimmey-Winans. The winner will receive $25,000 in Cash and Prizes.
More than 100,000 people attended the regional competitions across the country. The winners from each regional competition selected to compete in the Detroit finale include: Resurrection Baptist Church Mass Choir from Houston; Faith Celebration Choir from Faith Baptist Church in St. Louis; Remnant Concert Choir from Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Washington, D.C.; Marble Community Gospel Choir from Marble Collegiate Church in Newark, N.J.; Anointed Voices of Ford Memorial Temple from Philadelphia; Selected of God from Praise Tabernacle in Detroit; Evangel Celebration Choir from Evangel World Outreach Center in Chicago;
Atlanta West Pentecostal Church Choir; Greater Community Temple Voices from Greater Community Temple Voices COGIC in Memphis, TN.; City of Refuge P.S.A.L.M.S. in Los Angeles; and Angelic Voices of Deliverance Center Choir from East Oakland Faith Deliverance Center in Oakland, CA.
Marvin Sapp will be the guest performer at the event.
