Conrad Miller has hit the road for the wonderful state of North Carolina to represent the Gospel music he loves. The singer and songwriter, known for the Mother’s Day anthem, “Momma Prayed For Me” from his debut release, My Journey, is at the North Carolina Gospel Announcers Guild of the Gospel Music Workshop of America taking place in Raleigh, NC. At the event, as Miller reconnects with fellow industry friends, and performs on Friday evening, he will also tape for television. The popular gospel music program, New Dimensions, hosted by industry veteran Tracy Parker, will feature Miller on an upcoming segment.

Sanctified Slide in the Guinness Book of World Records

WASHINGTON, DC, DECEMBER 22, 2010: In celebration of his 40th birthday, Stellar Award Nominated Gospel Recording Artist Christopher Page has applied with the Guinness Book of World Records to break the record for the “Longest Gospel Line Dance Display.” Christopher, along with some of his favorite line dance groups from across the country, will perform his critically acclaimed Gospel Line Dance, the Sanctified Slide, 40 consecutive times. The event will take place in January 2011 in the Washington DC area.

In addition to celebrating his 40th birthday, Christopher, who is a spokesman for Donate Life America and the National Office of Transplantation will use this Guinness Book of World Records event as a platform to encourage more African Americans and Christians to commit to becoming organ donors. There will be a workshop on organ donation and onsite organ donation registration. Christopher will also give appreciation gifts to every registered organ donor who attends the event.

Christopher Page, whose 2009 project “A Page From My Heart” was nominated for a Stellar Award , is a minister, artist, clinician and songwriter. Over the past ten years, he has ministered extensively throughout the United States. He has delivered outstanding performances with some of the world’s greatest and most celebrated gospel artists including Kirk Franklin, Vanessa Williams, Dottie Peeples, Maurette Brown Clark, Trin-i-tee 5:7, and All-4-One. Recently, the group has been featured on Bobby Jones Gospel, the Word Network and the Gospel Music Workshop of America.

Kirk Franklin Bio

Kirk Franklin Bio:  A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Franklin was raised by his great aunt Gertrude, having been abandoned as a baby by his mother. Gertrude collected and resold aluminum cans to raise money for Kirk to take piano lessons from the age of 4. Kirk excelled in music, able to read and write music by ear. He received his first contract offer at the age of 7, which his aunt turned down. He joined the church choir and became music director of the Mt. Rose Baptist Church adult choir, at the age of eleven. Despite his strict religious upbringing, Franklin rebelled in his teenage years, and in an attempt to keep him out of trouble, his great aunt arranged an audition for him at a professional youth conservatory associated with a local university. He was accepted and while his life seemed to be on track for a while, the announcement of a girlfriend’s pregnancy and his eventual expulsion from school for behavioral problems proved otherwise.
