Artist Preps For Twin’s Live Recording In Orlando

(October 13, 2010) - Miami, FL - Mary Alessi is known for her passionate praise in songs like “More” and throughout the Stellar Award-nominated release When Women Worship. The twin sister of GRAMMY Award nominee of Martha Munizzi just released her fourth CD, Pressing On and it’s “making noise” on the Billboard Charts. The new CCM and gospel-flavored record made its entrance on the Billboard on the Top Gospel Albums chart at #11. In addition, the project peaked at #23 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. The Heatseekers Chart represents new artists, from all genres, who have made impressive rankings and sales for the first time.

Alessi, co-pastor of Metro Life Church in Miami, FL, is thrilled about the debut and its charting. I can’t believe how God is already showering favor on my latest project, Pressing On”, says the psalmist. The CD contains powerful praise tracks and heart-wrenching worship songs. Tunes like the gospel-tinged “I’ll Come Running/Have Your Way In Me” and the original “I Surrender All” will touch hearts. Fans will also enjoy the acoustic-driven title tune, “Pressing On” and the rock-edged “More Than Conquerors” featuring Munizzi. Other great songs include the memorable “I Will Bless The Lord” and the inspirational “All The Doors”.

The CD isn’t just a wonderful collection of spirited music from this Dove Award nominee, but after witnessing her husband, Steve, have a near-death experience, she’s learned to declare - no matter what happens - that she will indeed “press on”. The project is released on Munizzi’s Miami Life Sounds label and is distributed nationally through New Day Distributors.

Having promoted the new project in New York City, Philadelphia, and Dallas, Alessi will be joining Martha near Orlando at her sister’s upcoming “Make It Loud” live recording on October 22, 2010 at 7:00PM EST to be held at City of Life Church (2874 E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy., Kissimmee, FL 32744 - 407.834.5620). Other guests include Jonathan Stockstill, Michael Gungor and William McDowell. Stellar Award Nominee Christopher Page is using his nomination to promote Organ Donation

No comments 19 November 2009 Under: Black Gospel News

Washington, DC: Gospel Recording Artist Christopher Page was recently nominated for his first Stellar Award for his latest release, “A Page from My Heart,” which features the gospel line dance, “Sanctified Slide.” Christopher is using the nomination for the highest award in the gospel industry as a platform to encourage more African Americans and Christians to commit to becoming organ donors by working with the National Office of Transplantation and Donate Life America.

The “Giving Life through Gospel Music” campaign starts on November 13, 2009 during National Donor Sabbath Weekend and ends on August 1, 2010 on National Minority Donor Awareness Day. As part of the partnership, Christopher will have information available about the benefits of organ donation available at each performance during his Sanctified Slide Tour. Christopher will also donate a portion of his album sales to Donate Life America. In addition, he will also host workshops and conduct interviews across the country to address some of the myths, obstacles and fears associated with organ donation.

Christopher, who had a Cornea transplant a year ago and will have a second transplant in the Spring of 2010, feels that, “It is an honor to be nominated and possibly win the Stellar Award, but this honor means nothing if I can’t use it to make a difference in someone’s life. The way that I think about it is that I couldn’t read the ballot or my lyrics if it weren’t for someone else deciding to give me the gift of sight.”

Christopher Page is a nationally known professor, minister, artist, clinician, and songwriter. Over the past ten years, he has ministered extensively throughout the United States. He has delivered stellar performances with some of the world’s greatest and most celebrated gospel artists including Kirk Franklin, Vanessa Williams, Dottie Peeples, Maurette Brown Clark, Trin-i-tee 5:7, and All-4-One. Recently, the group has been featured on Bobby Jones Gospel, the United We Dance Convention and the Gospel Music Workshop of America.
