Vickie Winans’ New CD How I Got Over!

No comments 27 August 2009 Under: Black Gospel News

The Hardest Working Woman in Gospel, Vickie Winans, has overcome a lot since her last studio CD was released in 2006. Since that time, Winans’ beloved mother Mattie Bowman passed away and Winans departed from her longtime label Verity Records to launch her own Destiny Joy recording label. After surviving those trying times, Winans has rebounded triumphantly. “God has been good to me,” says the seven-time Grammy nominated singer. “I give Him all the praise. He’s stayed with me and held me up when I couldn’t hold up myself. There are so many great things happening that I just have to say that it’s because of God that I made it over.”

Vickie Winans aka “The Hardest Working Gospel Artist” is back at it again.  Please read article below.

On her last CD Vickie Winans delivered the hit “Rainbow,” which affirmed the storms of life are temporary. Since then, she has mourned the loss of her beloved mother Mattie Bowman and departed from Verity Records to launch Destiny Joy, her own record label.

On August 4 Winans will tell us how she makes it through trying times with the self-produced release of “How I Got Over.” The first single by the same name gives the traditional hymn “How I Got Over” a modern twist, with jazzy scatting from her nephew Tim Bowman Jr., who fans will remember from “Shake Yourself Loose” popularity.

Another career update finds Winans spending more time in the television studio. Known for cracking jokes on stage, Winans will put her good sense of humor to work as the host of a new BET comedy series, “A Time to Laugh,” slated to debut in January 2010.

Living up to her reputation as the “Hardest Working Woman in Gospel,” the self-managed artist is also a successfu

With less than a month on the market, the first single from gospel phenom Fred Hammond’s new CD could turn out to be the gospel hit of the summer.

“They That Wait” features John P. Kee and is #1 in rotation at gospel radio stations around the country.

“This is a great summer time song. It is signature Fred Hammond,” Mike Changler, GM/Owner REJOICE 100.9 told Gospelflava.com.

Called the architect of urban praise and worship, Hammond adds another melodious notch to his belt with the upcoming CD release entitled LOVE UNSTOPABLE.

The CD will be in stores in September. And first release is available for purchase now at iTunes, Amazon.com and all digital providers.

This will be Hammond’s sixth CD release through his Verity Records label since leaving the Black gospel group Commissioned.
